HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!!
Folks, I am the shit! Ok, sorry... if you know me at all, you would know that I am never stuck up/full of myself. But what happened this weekend RULES! Alec Mapa bought one of my prints at the silent auction! Yes, the gay comic (lately he is the host of TransAmerican LoveLife) from HOLLYWOOD! Saturday, he put in the one and only bid on one of my 2 prints... He was the entertainment for the night. Got a pic of him and I together. My honey took a much more flattering picture of him&i on her phone... I will have to get a copy of it for you all :) Anyhoo, if you don't know who this guy is, he has appeared on Ugly Betty and Desperate Housewives... and even the Ellen Degeneras Show!!!! So... he gave me his personal email! And I think he is going to forward my art to various folks.
I am trying not to get TOO hyped about this, but.... I have a great feeling about this. Someone in Hollywood has one of my pieces of art now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ah hell, i will insert a copy of the not so flattering pic of him and i....

11:08AM - hello everyone!
Long time no talk in here. Thought I would give folks an update. Hope everyone is well lately. Today is actually a good day. For those of you who don't know, I work at an alternative high school in the local public school district. OH! The most exciting news I could possibly give you is that fact that I am currently engaged to Courtney. She proposed to me a year after I moved out here to be with her. She is so wonderful, I love being her fiance. I am the luckiest girl in the whole wide world :) I will be starting school next week at Glendale Community College; I will be taking basic math and english courses, because I was slacking in my general ed. courses at Sinclair. I am really regretting having avoided those classes. I plan to get my Bachelors in Fine Arts before I turn 30, and hopefully start on my MFA really soon after that. Courtney and I went back to Ohio for the holi-daze... We had a nice time, but we decided next year folks can come to us next year.
Sorry about the ADD-ness of the entry, I need my meds again :(

go to that RIGHT NOW!
My sociology teacher RULES. She has been showing us this amazing documentary titled Sex: Unknown. In fact, I suggest that everyone BUY a copy of the documentary if you can. Since I have soooo many friends who are the minorities (for lack of a better word) of gender identification, and I support their choices (whatever they may be)... I found this documentary AMAZING. It supports how I originally thought that people have been predetermined physiologically to be a certain gender/sex. Its an amazing amazing documentary. Europe is amazing, I wish that the USA were as open about things like this. Scientists in Amsterdam discovered that there are differences between males and females in the brain. In the hypothalumus to be exact.
I find this particularly interesting... because I have wondered to myself... when I have children (if I give birth, or adopted a very very young child).. I would have figured out ways to find a scientist who can harmlessly xray the child's brain... find the section in the hypothalumus... And figure out it that section is larger ("male") or smaller ("female")... I actually wish that society didn't feel pressured to identify their children as male or female. What if everything were to change... If every child were named a special "unisex" name, and not identified as what is between their legs... and let the children determine that for themselves as they grow older. AND to have NO pressure to do so? Wouldn't that be amazing? But that would almost be too perfect.
P.S. PLEASE pass on the link and perhaps what I wrote... and with your own commentary. Except, LOOK and READ the website, and THEN write what you think. :) Let's start a thought-provoking bulletin. :) Not one of those lame bulletins!

4:40PM - This band fuckin RULES
Check out this band.
yeah, i love the host. once upon a time, the 3 guys from the left had a band called Levelnine. they broke up, and later on (too long, but i shouldnt complain, at least they came back), they created the host, and got a new guitarist. they are much more passionate then before, and its fuckin amazing music. wish they would put another song or two on their myspace though.

4:13PM - Anti Discrimination Law is going2hit some bumps in the road,PLEASE copy&paste it2friends!!!!!!!!!!!!
this is very important, try to make it to this, or at very least, PASS THE WORD ON!
*****This is being copied by me Ellen from my friend Emily. Please forward this to anyone and everyone you know in the cincinnati/close to cincy area who would be interested in this.*****
I thought we just won that battle? ... I guess this means we have to fight!
As you may (or may not) know, Cincinnati City Council just passed a law that protects gay, lesbian, and transgender people from discrimination. Now an anti-gay group (CCV) is trying to prevent that law from going into effect.
We need your help because out-of-town anti-gay groups are going to spend millions of dollars to try to confuse voters this Fall. Tuesday, May 2nd, is the primary election in Cincinnati. This is the best chance we have to tell the truth to thousands of voters one-on-one before November when our issue will be on the ballot.
Can you volunteer to help us for a few hours on election day? If you can work at the polls all day, that would be great. It's a lot of fun, and you'll be amazed at how supportive Cincinnati voters are when you talk to them one on one. You can also help us for just part of the day (4-8pm, 7-10am, 11-2pm shifts available).
We are having a rally and training session to give you the inside scoop on how the campaign is going, and so you will know who you'll be working with and what to expect on election day TONIGHT!!! Thursday, April 27th from 7 to 9 pm in room 620 of the Old Chemistry building at UC's Main Campus and Sunday, April 30th from 2-4 pm, location TBD.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
****email Ellen at
... and i shall forward the info to my friend emily. :)****

7:19PM - black jack, missouri
THIS IS FUCKING DUMB.
a hetero couple who are living together with the woman's two children are being told to leave or get married!!!!
see, they are unmarried and now are being told this. it is fucked up. if i were them, i would flip the entire court off and then move somewhere that isnt so fucked up. FUCKING DUMB. pisses me the fuck off.
9:02AM - hmmmm
so.. courtney asked me yesterday night while we were all snuggled up in bed together if i could use the first part of the summer quarter to do online courses. i said yes. and now i am thinking i want to take probably- 3 courses. i was originally going to do two, but i am sure that all quarter long if i do Math 102 (its a videotape distance course- i suppose it would be online too along with video.. if not, i refuse to do distance that is NOT online- i had a bad experience with this.. if this is the case*snailmailcourse* then i do second half of quarter at school doing it)... and english 111, and psych 1 or soc 1... or i suppose i bet i could do eng, psych, and soc as the online courses all summer. that way, while she is at work i can do the schoolwork during the day.. and when she comes home, spend time with her. currently im looking at the distance learning site for sinclair...
called the office and she said that the videotape learning courses.. are as if they are lectures.. and then you read (and for math i guess you do practice problems on your own) and prepare for tests. and the tests if you are out of state, you get proctered. it sounds like maybe it would be better. hell if i know. as long as its not a goddamned snail mail course. those drove me bonkers. i tried it through Indiana University, and that was a huge mistake. anyhoo, it should all be an adventure.
oh yeah.. my GPA so far is 3.189.. which i suppose isnt TOO bad. sucks that it isnt 3.5 or higher though. :(
and for Printmaking and Tai Chi i got A's and for geology 2 and eastern religions i got B's...
